Scheduled maintenance
Routine inspections, fluid changes and normal wear-item service help care for your engine over time. An active warranty does not make every maintenance visit a covered repair.

A warranty question shouldn’t leave you wondering where to start.
Tell Black Label’s Pinellas team what’s happening. We’ll help you work through the engine details, service information and next steps for a Yamaha or Mercury warranty concern.
First, a little clarity
Knowing your warranty dates is one part of the picture. Finding out whether a particular repair qualifies also takes an assessment of the problem and the terms that apply.
A service request starts that conversation. It doesn’t confirm coverage or book an appointment.
A helpful place to begin
You don’t need to diagnose the problem yourself. A clear description and a few useful records give the team a better starting point.
Tell us about the boat, engine and concern. Include when it began, any alerts and whether the issue happens every time or only under certain conditions.
The team can discuss service fit and the diagnostic next step. Ask about availability, drop-off arrangements and any diagnostic charges before arranging your visit.
Diagnosis helps establish the cause. Coverage follows the applicable manufacturer terms and authorized service process. Clarify what qualifies, what may be customer-paid and what needs your approval.
Discuss the agreed work, parts availability and expected timing. Keep the completed service paperwork with your boat’s records and ask about any follow-up care.
Two parts of ownership
Routine inspections, fluid changes and normal wear-item service help care for your engine over time. An active warranty does not make every maintenance visit a covered repair.
Explore outboard maintenance →A reported issue is assessed against the coverage that applies. The cause, product and terms matter; the boat, engine and installed equipment may have separate warranties.
Have an extended plan? Bring the contract so its provider and claim process can be checked.
New to you. Still your boat life.
A change of owner is a good time to check registration, service history and any remaining coverage. Don’t assume coverage transfers automatically or that every protection plan follows the boat.
Share the engine identification and purchase paperwork. Ask which transfer steps, inspections or charges apply to your situation.
Ask about ownership and coverage →Questions before your visit
Not by itself. The team needs to understand the issue and the terms that apply. Diagnosis, coverage review and approval of the work are separate parts of the conversation.
Yes—contact the team with your boat and engine details. We can discuss the service request, relevant location and any ownership or registration information needed before confirming an appointment.
Yamaha says no. Proper maintenance still matters, and an issue caused by inadequate maintenance or service may not qualify. Covered warranty work follows Yamaha’s authorized service process. Keep records of all maintenance, including work completed yourself.
There may be. Ask how diagnosis, noncovered repairs and related costs will be handled before authorizing work. A warranty inquiry is not a promise of free diagnosis or repairs.
