Build a care routine around your boat

Start with the boat and engine manufacturers’ instructions. Maintenance needs depend on the equipment, elapsed time, hours and use—not a single schedule that fits every owner. Record work completed, save receipts and note anything you want the service team to check.

For questions about a warning, a change in performance or an unfamiliar sound, describe what happened rather than trying to diagnose it yourself.

Prepare for the day you actually plan to have

Choose the launch, review current conditions and make sure the boat and the people aboard are ready for the outing. Use official information for local access, weather and boating requirements. Check the time and date on information that can change.
